The Philatelic and Numismatic Office of Taranto "The Persephone Gaia" was born February 28, 2004 on the initiative of a group of fans eager to field their knowledge to stimulate other collectors out of hiding in the shadows, advising and encouraging them to pursue the course of this wonderful hobby.
- "The Circle is a non-profit social and cultural pursuing charitable purposes as defined in Art. 10, paragraph 3 of Legislative Decree no. 460/97, in education and art through Philately, Numismatics and the other forms of Collectibles or Hobby. It aims to lend his assistance to the members and to work for the propaganda of Philately and Numismatics. To promote exchanges of stamps and philatelic and numismatic material between the members and between the latter and the other national associations stamps and coins. Purpose of the club is also to promote exhibitions, competitions and other various manifestations of propaganda and, within the limits of their possibilities, facilitate the participation of members in events that take place outside the city of Taranto. The Circle is absolutely apolitical and non-partisan (see art. 4 et seq. Of the Statute annex)
- One of the aims of the club are also the ones to bring, free young people (14-18 years old) with the various forms of collecting and hobby in general, thus helping to enrich their social sensitivity and cultural preparatory to a healthy civil life;
